Channeling Your Inner Femme Fatale

Do you ever wish you could throw your hands up at the idea of designing for the sexes and go over the top, fabulously feminine, holding nothing back when it comes to your love for pink, silk, lace, or tulle?

Even if only one room in the house, wouldn't it be nice to have your own 'girly hideaway'? The anti-man cave, where feeling feminine, relaxing, maybe reading a book, is your only worry?

Playing dress up for the day for no particular reason or occasion but simply because a happy girl is a beautiful girl.

Of course a bed fit for a queen would be in order. And a pink, plush fainting sofa to collapse on at the end of the day? Even better!

Splurging on something opulent and gorgeous like these Bottega Veneta beauties? A girl can dream! We might not all have an awards show to attend, but your wedding? Definitely more realistic. I'd walk down the aisle in one of these in a heartbeat!

Nothing says feminine like a velvet canopy in a 'barely there' pink to come home to each night and catch your dreams!

Imagine the creative energy and inspiration you'd have working at a little desk like this. Somehow I think that gorgeous lavender taffeta silk drapery would make work a whole lot more enjoyable for me.  Cozying up in a soft coat of the same color on a crisp autumn day wouldn't hurt either.

I'd love to throw 'girls night' at my place in a living room like this. Pinkish walls, glided furniture and accent places, and of course that chandelier all showcase the sophistication, intelligence and beauty of a woman with perfect articulation!

Absolutely loving the comparison side-by-side with the runway, Crystal! I can't help but lust after the circular canopy up top. Too bad I can't do something like that in my studio :(

OMG, Crystal. Totally!!! My dream is to have my own "office" that is really more like a haven for all my girly things! It kills me the stuff that my boyfriend vetoes (although I perfectly understand why he doesn't want to sleep in a pink fluffy room :-)). But, still.. sigh. P.S. I posted that second pic with the gray and purple sometime back, and it's one of my all time favorites!!! That is my DREAM bed! Hope you are having a lovely day! xo Lilah

I am absolutely mad for the entire Bottega Venetta collection. The fact that a deep mauve is the staple hue, appeals to my sense of persona.

Feminine beds: I offer up color to my Big Kahuna to just to give the guy a chance. He always tells me blue. I show him blue, he says "No". I show him raspberry pink, and he simmers down and goes to sleep. So, there.

P.S. My living room at the moment is painted Plum purple!
All the guys roll their eyes, and he give false complaints, just to entertain them even though he feels comfortable in that color too.

Girls night it that place would be oh-so fun. I have this pic that I need to post... its so similar to that color palette... the subtle sheerness of the pinks and lavenders. It’s so soothing. (I have several pics I need to scan to add to my archive, I need to get on that too!!!)

I adore this post. Not only Bottega is my favourite favourite favourite designer house, these ideas are just so feminine and delicious! :) Thanks so much for inspiration, darling. I've got the room, which I'd love to turn into my own personal little space one day. I keep saving photos from your blog for inspiration. Got a file full of them now. :)

This is so pretty! I love the outfits and rooms -- and will also save this post for future inspiration ~ I think the last room is my favorite. There are a lot of pieces in the space, but it manages to stay calm and fresh looking. (love the wee little lucite table, too!)

This reminds me of younger years, when my room was totally girly and ruffly, with an antique desk and chair, beautiful bed, and dresser. I went totally modern and sleek after, but find myself injecting lovely little touches of ultra-feminine accessories once again :) Once a girly girl, always a girly girl, right?

P.S I have tried emailing you twice, but my account is still having problems ~ so sorry about the delay! I will try again soon :)

I remember being in Portofino and -not slightly imbarrassed- literally pushing my nose against the Bottega Veneta shopwindow... That shop is breathtaking, and those dresses in your pictures just prove that again! And a "yes!" to girl nights, and a "hell yes!" to that fabulous table with the black and white photo above... Stunning!

It all brings Carla Brunei to mind, which is an endorsement in itself.

Love this post. I adore feminine design and fashion. There is something so sensuous about it ~ silky, soft.... Makes me feel beautiful when I dress that way and comfortable when I am in a room designed that way. Nice pics!

Love the dream.

Particularly love the desk by the window and that last room - its so soothing.

Any idea about where the pink cushion / b&w border might be found. I need (sorry want) new cushions and would love to have a good stockist?
