Judging from the chilly weather we've had here, another summer has come and gone. Time to welcome a new season of life and reflect on all the things still eager to be accomplished before the end of the year. Time to turn in long days outside for shorter ones cuddled up inside...hopefully with the fireplace going and a hot chocolate nearby.
Here in Chicago, the need to hibernate through the cold months is inescapable and met with much resistance. But every day needs its night. Every storm, its calm. And so a part of me is thankful that with each new season, we turn a another leaf, waiting to be awoken!

I love getting all cozied up inside when it is freezing on the outside! Love the pictures...they are in true mourning. Hope you have a great day!! = )
Oh I'd hibernate picturesquely like that too if only the to do list would keep ticking itself off without me.
this first photos looks like me today. dressed up , on the way out the door and extremely exhausted

Well, this fashion shoot is a little creepy, isn't it?
I didn't realize you're in Chicago - I'm just a few hours north in Madison. Yesterday was the first day it really felt like fall with the high winds.
I feel like that today... just a lot less fabulous and made up. The first one makes me think of a poor servant, who is working and working and never gets a break - sort of like the Chekhov character who kills the baby so she can get some sleep.
Oooh I could sleep on those stairs! And preferably in that dress, too.
LOVE these images!!!
Classic ~~~

It so did decide to become fall in a flash! This morning's run was definitely dark and chilly. Could you believe the wind we've had the past few days? Incredible.
I love these. Seriously, this is how I feel many days! Sleeping while standing up!! I wish I looked as glam as these ladies...love hibernating...I think I was a bear in a former life.
Wonderful shoot! So different! Have a sweet day! x
your post is a perfect picture of what's outside my window right now! i have to admit i love fall and winter--wonderful post!
Oh, what lovely images! Having grown up in Chicago I know exactly how brutal they can be (the lake breeze-yikes!).
I've been to NYC several times but never to Chicago. I hear it's fabulous! It sounds like it's a lot like NY; chilly in the Fall in Winter but with so many sights to see and places to go, it's entirely worth it!
P.S. Thanks for your sweet comment on my lamp :)
great images :).
What totally dreamy pictures, love the rabbit!
Thank you SO much for your gorgeous comments at mine, you have a beautiful site here too.
Will be havin' a little browse :o

Mmm, sounds good. It's still hot as summer here, the nights just started cooling a few days ago--can't wait until it's cold enough to have a fire. I'm envious of your new season!
