Moody & Romantic, Black Interiors

With Halloween just around the corner, I have black on the mind! It's a color that exudes mystery, confidence and sophistication all at once.
My current love? Black doors! From flat toned to one dripping with gloss, I love it which ever way it comes!
Of course, sometimes all a space needs is just a touch of dark to make it striking. When an entire wall would be too much, why not paint the insides of a shelf or large piece of furniture to create the depth and interest you need?
I do hope to have a black tub like once of these someday! I can't think of a more romantic and relaxing way to bathe!
For the cooler months, a darker palette for outdoor living keeps the space relevant and seasonally appropriate. For inside the home, bringing out those warm, moody, dark accessories is just the touch needed to slip cozily into the winter months.

The picture with the lilacs just gets me every time. I've seen it once before and I just think the way that light purple hits the black and white is amazing. Black and white is such a dramatic combination and seems to work for every style of home (I've yet to see it look bad).

Excellent taste.

ooooh, I like these. They are very romantic. I see alot of rooms online that are all white and I really like them too, but I like bits of black or dark brown furniture here and there. I have a very tall bookcase that covers one wall in my house that is dark brown and a large black framed mirror from Anthropologie above my fireplace. They both seem to make a statement and it's what I get comments on the most when people visit me.

The yellow chair by the grey bath against the black background is just perfect.

These looks are great. I love pairing black and white with weathered wood. Looks luxurious and not at all sterile.

my kind of decor, i just love it! especially the glossy door and walls- as you say "dripping with gloss".

i like the idea of adding black to outdoor living spaces in the cooler months- even for climates like mine that don't experience seasons, the look would still be lovely.

all these are gorgeous and very inspiring.

Beautiful post, Crystal!

My eye immediately zoomed in on the photo with the large, lush bouquet. Pretty! And then...I noticed the Chanel ball, amoungst the little library -- too fun! Also, the built-in ornate cabinet in image 04 is so beautiful. That hallway in image 05 is so smart and chic -- great idea.

Thanks to your lovely blog, my inspirational file is growing -- I may need to buy another hard drive *wink

Wow, this post is so beautiful. I love the contrast of the flowers against the black door in the 2nd photo. I also adore the mood of the 6th photo - it seems so calming and peaceful, and the yellow chair is such a perfect touch.

Amazing post, love!
