Warm, luxurious, and seductive - the color purple made a splash in the design world earlier this year and is still going strong! It can be regal and masculine, but just as easily flirty and feminine. It's versatility gives it longevity, which is why I can't get enough of it! How about you? Would you use purple in your home?

I love the rich plum color on the walls. I wouldn't have thought of doing such a thing but it works really well -- especially since that room has high ceilings and a lot of space.
I used purple in my bedroom for years so after a while I needed a change. But seeing it all over the place again is rekindling my love for the color!
i love that HUGE statement that the plum purple wall is making inthe first picture!
Purple and white, yes; purple and grey, yes. But there's something in me that draws the line at purple and green. That first photo is lovely - a very suitably sparing use of colour.
oh I adore purple! I have one of our bathrooms with a purple wall and I love it!
i'd use just about any color in my home if i could...
i adore anything purple right now. lovely rooms.
Ooh so pretty!
Cheers.
So rich and luxurious. The first image stays on my mind.
Such lush imagery.
As for whether I'd use purple- yes I would, and I have. Since moving to the Caribbean 12 years ago, our home has seen its share of purple hues- from deep purple accents to periwinkle living room walls! I have to admit growing tired of it after a few years, though, perhaps due in part to all the color outside my door anyway. So...we went the opposite and now all the decor is soft neutrals.
I'm continually inspired by the images on your blog, seeing how color is used in wonderful ways!
Definitely! Just did a post about my new plum pillows!

(so great timing!!! ;))
The first picture's walls are divine. That's a great purple! I don't have purple in my house, but I do love it. When I was a designing fabric, I always fought to have some version of a purple colorway in the colorline. People either love or hate it, so I find it the most interesting color.
I do have a dark "Aplomb" where the television is and and even darker "Bonne Nuit" where my bookcase and desk are.
Between the two is a dark cinnamon.
Purple is an intellectual color, so it makes sense to me to have it round the various forms of communication. The cinnamon helps me stay grounded and not to stay too long up in my own head.
It also serves to help those coming through the door, and off the busy city street outside to slow down, and simmer down enough for a decent conversation.
I looove this color. And the first picture is a color I would paint my dining room!
I like the 2nd picture. It looks great balanced with all that white.
Hi Crystal, my favourite post so far, simply breathtaking adore the chandalier!!! Sharon xxxoo
Stunning rooms! My faves are the first and last :)
Love love love purple! I wear it all the time, I accessorise with it. So fabulous.
Many of clients end up with purple too (even thought they didn't know they wanted it). I especially love to team up bold purples with olive green - so yummy.
Great pics :-)
Have a lovely day!

that first image really is the perfect purple, been looking for it all my life!
I love the purple home decorating trend! I think purple is so royal and elegant. I've owned a purple chair for years, so I'm glad the color is making a comeback on the interior decorating front.
LOVE the dark purple in the first image (I thought long and hard about painting my living room a very similar color...)
That first pic is the one I use on my twitter page, yay! :-)
I love purple, but I fear decorating with it. It seems like I could veer towards Barney purple too easily!
Hi Crystal,
Yes, I love touches of purple. I have had the photo with the purple bench in front on the fireplace pulled for inspiration for a while ~ I love it. I really love the light lavenders that I have been seeing a lot of. Jamie Drake has so many great rooms in that hue. BTW ~ You look fabulous in the Red Ticking photo!

The bed is amazing! Beautiful, chic and elegant yet simple and classic. I would love to have this one!
Have a lovely day!
Beautiful images, Crystal!
I love purple, especially for Fall. It's so warm and rich. I have worked it into my bedroom for Fall, and am loving it!
That last photo is perfection!!! ♥
I love a dusky purple storm grey - I have a few throws and blankets in this shade, so I always have it in my bedroom.
purple has always been my favorite color, so i'm in heaven looking at these images!
