Coveting the Convex

The convex mirror took awhile to grow on me, but now that it has, I can't get enough of these bulging surfaces. The rounded edge and curvy center make it the perfect antidote to any square-plagued room. Of course there's also the light it casts and depth it creates that make a convex so wonderful. But really...it's something different and that's reason enough for me to like it!!

Oh me too! Convexity gives a mirror a good reason to be round, and we can pretend we're living in an old Dutch painting with our ochres and fortitude.

Ah I never considered using a convex mirror as decoration. But I do think I love it! Do you use them in your home decor?

Hi Crystal,

Thanks for answering my question yesterday. My best friend gave me a convex mirror several years ago and i love it. I don't think they ever go out of style.

As I was stumbling around the design world, I came across your blog and had to sit up straight. Very lovely!!

The first mirror is amazing. And the ottomans in the last photo add such a pop to the room!

Cheers from Seattle! OX Monika
