If there's one thing I observed while living in Italy, it's that the women are magnetic, alluring, and beautiful. Emphasis on style is not just an interest of a narrow few, but an intrinsic part of the widespread culture. It's in their blood to spend time on creating beauty. Italians and fashion: you can hardly separate the two.
These looks taken in Milano by the Sartorialist capture the bold beauty so easy to find while walking the streets of Italy. I love the unassuming sophistication of the girl above. Isn't her woven, green purse just the perfect touch of color?
Color and pattern confidence at its best! While these looks might get a few snickers and stares here in the States, it's perfectly suited for the fashionable streets of Milano.
I wonder where she's headed and who she is? Surely she has enough spontaneity and spunk in her to captivate any adoring onlooker.
BFFs who coordinated their looks perhaps? I'm not sure, but one thing is clear: The best accessory a woman can ever poses is a smile!
How sweet is she? From the hair to the white bow, her jovial and modest look calls for adoration. My favorite part of all? The nude shoes!

More, more, more!!! Give me more!! I love your posts!
I love these photos -- I think American women are often afraid to be too "edgy" in fashion because its not always perceived as attractive. These women prove how misplaced that fear is. Confidence = sexiness. End of story.
Oh I just adore the mixes of colors - orange and teal; royal blue and yellow and even the mono colored outfit - all grey. Pretty pictures.
The Italian really are willing to be daring! I'm a bigger fan of the simple, sophisticated looks (just my style), but I love that these women have the confidence to be different and really rock what they're wearing.
I love the bright yellow and blue outfit, as well as the sweet last one with the bow. I agree! I've never seen such beautiful and stylish people as when I was in Milan.
Each woman looks so radiant and confident.
I'm obsessed with them. The Sartorialist captures fashion like no one else. I long to be in Italy!
I agree with Jenn -- so many Americans don't want to take risks lest they end up on some "worst dressed" list (or even just laughed at). Truthfully if everyone likes what you're wearing, then it's probably terribly boring.
The thing that instantly catches my eye is the confidence and the shoes! Though not all the outfits appeal to me, the women radiate. Really amazing.
Are these all your pictures, if so they are beautiful!!!
Oh wow, these girls look AMAZING!!! I totally agree with all your comments - just got back from Italy last night!! The only time I have ever felt "underdressed" in my life was after a trip to Rome, everyone there, male and female, is SO stylish and beautiful - and I thought I was looking pretty good!!
:)
All these photos are so gorgeous!
I agree, great post! Italian women certainly place importance on style, and so do men! Oh, and I adore those blue pants in the 1st photo!
xoxo
I really like it when people create an ensemble to wear, as in these images. There's way too much slouchy clothing round these days, and it's depressing. Even if it's branded and expensive, it's still slouchy.
I love how well they dress in Europe, very fashionable and chic!
@Simone: How fun! Hope you had an amazing time in Italy. I'm itching to get back!
Beautiful fashion! Gorgeous colors! So naturally and thoughtfully put together -- you have said it perfectly, Crystal. You have such a way with words -- defining and putting together exactly what is swimming through my mind. Your writing is captivating.
I am now dreaming of Italy...

the vibrant colors and feminine silhouettes are so inspiring!
Absolutely love the shoes in the last photo. Her whole outfit is a standout. Also loved the woman in the blue sweater and skirt.
