Completely Enamored

I'm completely enamored with this space. It's a Sharon Mimran design that I found while browsing the galleries of Canadian House & Home last night for a little inspiration.
I dream of having herringbone oak floors just like these one day in the same glamorous, high gloss finish. I also love the traditional details, like the crown moulding and built-ins, paired with the contemporary furniture, like those futuristic chairs. Speaking of built-ins, can you make out the mesh front doors that were added to them? I love how they bring a new element (metal) and texture (netting) to the space. That window seat, with carved out niches for firewood on either side, is pure bliss. Sunlight and symmetry, what more could a designer ask for?

A wonderful space altogether. The storage for the wood, incorporating a tv while still keeping the fireplace the focal point and yes, the herringbone floors(wasn't sure what they were called, until you wrote that - thank you!) they are gorgeous!

What a beautiful room. Simple yet has its own personality! I wonder what color white paint they used? The natural light just pops off of it. Hope all is well. Austin, TX is just beautiful today!

Oh my goodness, really do love this room. And those floors! Love the Emmy's on the mantle ... reminds me of when my parents put my uncle's on their mantle. He worked behind-the-scenes for Fox and whenever he'd win one he'd give it to someone in our family (I think he's won 2 or 3 now). I thought it was a cool tradition.

What a beautiful space this is! It's so light and airy -- the seating areas are pretty and there are such great details. You hardly notice that there is a t.v in there at all...and then there's that floor!

Hope you're having a great week, Crystal :)

this image makes me giddy. The bare floors, gray and white pillows, the logs built ins, and the moldings, I could go on and on.
