This is a room that I keep coming back to over and over again. I can't get those 'strawberries and cream' colored walls with the beautiful white chair rail and molding out of my mind! It's perfectly sophisticated and serene. But the ornate and curvy fainting sofas upholstered in modern stripes are what really send me over the moon. I won't even get started on the thin lines of the tray table repeated in the statue stand and reading lamp - pure detail bliss!
A darker shade of pink and more overt sense of femininity are what draw me into this room. I wonder, could a man happily live here, too? Or is this clearly a woman's home? The beautiful white loveseat with perfect nailhead trim outlining its form is a true piece of art, don't you think? And those floors! Enough said. But my very favorite stylistic touch is that lone pillow in a velvety, burgundy brown exuding all that texture and warmth.
Wishing you a lovely weekend filled with lots of rest and happiness. xo, Crystal

beautiful and sweet images. i love the whole uncontrived composition. thanks for sharing and happy weekend!
It's so pretty without trying too hard--love those framed shells on the pink wall! And yes, I often debated that pink decorating theory and men...guess it depends on the guy :)
Have a great weekend Crystal!

I'm loving all of the pink and pretty details, Crystal! The first room looks so welcoming, light and airy. I enjoy the mix of stripes, something I haven't seen often, but love! (that lounger is too precious)
The second room looks like such a cozy retreat. I'm not sure a man could live here, but like Mary Jo said, it depends on the guy -- I think mine could. He selected a bold, floral bedding for goodness sakes! Can you imagine??
I hope you have a delightful weekend. xoxo
:)
Sometimes I wish I hadn't moved in with my boyfriend right after college so I could have decorated like that. If I ever have a home office, I'm painting it that color!
i so wish i had the opportunity to paint one room all pink. those are sooo beautiful. i guess i better pray for having a daughter....
beautiful pics.
:)
Oh those fainting sofas! As you point out, the combination of the vintage curves and the fresh simplicity of the modern stripes is magnificent.
Gorgeous spaces! It totally depends on the man. My dad is a rough and tough, stocky farmer. He exudes manliness, but he'll wear hot pink shirts & sleeps in a mainly pink and feminine bedroom b/c my Mom likes pink. He claims that "Real men wear pink". Truth be told - tan men look really nice in pink too, but you have to convince them first! :)
Oh I love the softness of the second room, it's so beautiful.
xxx
Love the pillow too - but sadly, definately not a design scheme my man would want to share with me!
Gorgeous. It has just the right amount of worn to be accessible and inviting. Love it too!
gorgeous, gorgeous rooms! :)
Beautiful and unique. The fainting couch - my favorite! Have a great weekend!
Oh I want it I want it I want it! But I need a big plushy flowery couch to crash on with a book (I apologize. I'm a big crasher.)
Both of those pinks are perfect. I have a page from Elle Decor with a pink room that I feel in love with. Now I just need a fainting couch.
I always say I'm allergic to pink, but this is a really calm look. I do LOVE the floors in the second photo and have been searching for a lovely fainting sofa/chaise for my bedroom. Lovely
It is pretty feminin, but not just because of the color, the curved lines of the chairs are really feminin to (I think) But then.. when I redecorated my bedroom ( http://vosgesparis.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html ) I found out that the male visitors youg and old really liked it despite the pink and purple cushions.
WHy pink anyway as there are so many grest greys with a purple / pink twist ;)
have a good weekend.
Very pretty. Love the contrast with the black/white striped chair/chaise. :)
Have a fabulous weekend!!

i've always been a blue girl ~ never a pretty pink girl ~ but you swayed me w/these pics. especially the darker shade...
my husband on the other hand probably would never be "happy" w/a room that pink even if he's not bothered by the color... i can't imagine a poker night in there :)
I love the collection of frames - it looks a little colonial in style. I would be very happy in a pink house, not sure my husband would be though :-)
Ohhh, so pretty and feminine. I love it the walls and couch!
beautiful images! I hear ya on the black and white stripes too. I have this "thing" for them lately too. Makes me want to redecorate every room in my house.
Love the pretty pink and the wainscotting.
I'm loving the pink. I'm trying to convince my husband to let me do our bedroom pink...I haven't been too successful; but maybe this will convince him.
LOVE the wall color!
So pretty and feminine. Lovely.
