I first learned of Ryan Korban when I stumbled across his home on The Selby. It was love at first site. I fell hard for the stacks of books, brass finishes, antiques rugs, and hints of metallic. A mix of everything seemingly unrelated but somehow working so harmoniously as one.
Thumbing through his portfolio, I've fallen even deeper in love with his confidence in mixing materials and finishes. His signature look of thin metals (seen in his choice of lamps, tables, bed frames, and chairs), fur throws, exotic skins, and topiary is perfectly restrained and unabashedly bold all at once.
And guess what. He's only twentyfive! A self-taught designer with an impeccable eye and exquisite taste make him one of New York's finest.
Perfectly layered textures, finishes, and furniture - to me this space summarizes all the reasons I love him and says it all.

What a talented man!
I love his particular use of metals, as you mentioned -- so perfectly combined, so you can appreciate each and every piece. Great visual interest and use of scale, too. I love your notes on his style and details...and 25?! Wow!
I want to put moss/topiary balls on top of candlesticks now -- what a great idea, which is giving me more ideas...printing out the first image as I type this!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend, Crystal, xoxo
I really really like the mix of masculine and feminine touches, works so well. Al the details are amazing.
What a fabulous find! His age boggles the mind, his style is so sophisticated! I'm a fan now too, Thanks.

Love love love the brown leather couch in the first picture. So FAB!
Really?
So much fur and skin. Sure, it's all about the look, not the cost to an animal.
Its so fun when you find a designer who truly speaks to your sense of home. This is a great post. I love how he designs by his own set of rules!
so his use of fur doesnt really bother me...but upholstered on chairs is a little much for me! loving the framed art, gorgeous in all of these!
Well, Ryan's future sure looks bright and filled with amazing design projects!
