Last Thursday I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a Sferra party held to promote their Lose Count campaign here in Chicago. The Lose Count movement is all about educating people on the elusive thread count conundrum. While thread count is important when selecting sheets, other factors important to consider are weight, fiber, finish, and feel.
As a huge fan of Sferra's luxury Italian linens, it was such an honor to meet creative director Aaron Stewart (above with his lovely cousin Tamara on the left). He was just as personable, charming, and kind as I imagined him to be. I loved talking to him about his career path, the new Peter Som partnership, and of course our mutual love of Italy!
Here we are with Sferra president, Paul Hooker, who again, couldn't have been warmer or more welcoming. Under Paul's stewardship, Sferra has not only experienced explosive growth, but has held on to its roots in Italian artistry and long tradition of using only the finest materials.
And of course, I always love the opportunity to meet other bloggers! Alaina (on the far right) is a fellow Chicago style blogger (Live Creating Yourself) and the talented designer behind these prints. The lovely lady in the middle is of course award-winning interior designer and blogger Tobi Fairly. She and hubby Carter were in town from Arkansas for a little anniversary trip (congratulations!). We sadly missed, Ronda Carman of All the Best, who was stuck in Europe due to the volcano ash.
Between all the beautiful bedding displayed around the shop, Alessandra Branca's gorgeous showroom (who by the way is delightful!), and all the creative people around, it was truly a night to remember!

How exciting! Looks like so much fun!
What a fun opportunity! You look gorgeous! xo
I've tried explaining the thread count thing to clients with only limited success, so I'll be glad to see Sferra's explanation so I can pass the word. Sounds like you had a great evening!
Oh what a lovely weekend! Almost make me what to move back to Chicago!:)
How absolutely fun! I am totally jealous!!! Also, sometimes you can find gorgeous Sferra linens at Tuesday Mornings... just passing on the word.
It was so much fun! Cannot wait for our next get-together!

Looks like so much fun, and I adore Sferra. I gave two of their throws as Christmas gifts and the recipients loved them
