Guest Post: Erin of Design for Mankind

Welcome to the first day of a week full of fabulous guest posts! I've asked five of my favorite bloggers to take over Plush Palate and hold down the fort while I'm on vacation. While I'm off exploring the French Riviera and Moscow, I've asked them to share their own travel and cultural inspirations. And I'm thrilled to have Erin of Design for Mankind kick it all off. Take it away Erin...
I'm far from what you'd call a world traveler and am a bit of a homebody, so when Crystal asked that I share my favorite international finds, I was at a serious loss. So --- consider this my imaginary treasure trove of what I would collect if I were indeed an international girl of awesomeness.

In fact, I just have a few of these in my home right now --- even though they definitely hail from the states. Behold -- the art of the Suzani pillow!:

The name suzani comes from the Persian word for needle. And although chain, satin and buttonhole stitches are commonly used on these beautiful textiles, many are known for their jaw-dropping patterns and colors. A few of my favorites?:
You're in love, too, yes? I thought so. Happy trails!

Love the embroidery, and I've learned a new word ! (I probably should have known it before now...eek) Thanks for the eye candy and the lesson to boot.
