Meg Ryan's Beachy Abode

Well friends, blogger was down for most of the day and I couldn't access my account, so today's post comes in the evening instead of the usual morning time. It's funny how much it threw my day off, actually. You see, I look forward to posting everyday because whether you know it or not, I feel connected to our friendship.
Have you read the June issue of Elle Decor? If so, then you probably loved Meg Ryan's Martha's Vineyard home as much as I did. She enlisted Satinwood to help with the interior design and the result is a relaxed, unassuming, beautiful space. I was also delighted to read that she sourced much of the decor from Interieurs in New York City, because I know that the owner Francine is a Plush Palate reader. (Hi Francine!)
The wood island is the perfect example of bringing the outside in and references the beautiful plot of land where this home sits. I would also die to have all those windows! They are gorgeous. As are the cute and simple little pendant lights over the work area.
Oh how I love the little casement windows creating a separation of space into the bathroom. Well, I just love casement windows period....anywhere, anyway. What I also took away from studying this image is the idea of a simple wire basket to hold towels and wash clothes. I love the simplicity and practicality of it!

And because I tend to personify interiors, I had a strange thought while reading this article in my copy of the magazine. If this home had to date another home, she'd certainly make a cute couple with this one :)

That was worth waiting for, Crystal. I really enjoyed looking through both posts again with the thought that they were dating...and you're right! Fun comparison!
