A man known for his kind, unpretentious ways as much as for his drop dead gorgeous designs, Brad Ford is a man after my own heart! If you aren't already acquainted with his exquisite body of work, let me do the honors of introducing you to your new favorite designer!
One look through Brad's portfolio and his knack for scale and texture is abundantly clear. Bringing the two together in perfect harmony, he creates spaces that calm and surfaces that sing.
A man less about self-promotion and more for letting his portfolio do the talking, the Arkansas native turned New Yorker has risen the ranks through the help of mentors (George Anderson, Jed Johnson, Thad Hayes), an innate sense of style, and the ability to go after a dream!
His work is often described as organic, natural, and warm. I'd add inviting, innovative, and soulful. To look at his spaces is to be filled with tranquility -- the visual equivalent of walking into a breath of fresh air.
If you're as smitten as I am, you'll enjoy getting to know Brad even better through his widely popular blog, Design Therapy. I also rather enjoyed the write-up 1st Dibs did on the dashing designer...definitely a recommended reading!
P.S. If anyone knows the name of the flowers in the first image, please do tell!

Amazing. He's definitely one of my favorite designers. I had that shot from Lonny as my desktop background for months after seeing it.

I like that these rooms are not feminine, but not overtly masculine either. They have a certain strong yet relaxed air about them. It all seems very natural, almost undecorated.
Lovely...I enjoy the mix of each room.

P.S. Looking forward to Rue's debut!!!
wow he is amazing!! so interesting to see a room that is both "soulful" and "tranquil"... i dont usually think of these two things as going together, but his designs manage to be both! i'm moving into a new apartment on saturday (so excited!!) && i'll definitely be keeping these pictures in mind for inspiration.

Gotta love Mr. Ford. It was nice to visit with both of you today. I always love editing from Ford, and using textures to create interest. He's one of the best at that.
Love these rooms! I believe the flowers in the top image are green parrot tulips, one of my favs!
"Smitten" is the perfect word. He's a big fan of a subtle approach for walls; Check out his perspective on color in our interview: http://tinyurl.com/3xyyu7z
Thanks for the link to Brad's blog - gorgeous!
Great Rooms!!!
And I agree with anonymous above...they look like green and white parrot tulips to me.
