Gwyneth Paltrow's New Book: My Father's Daughter

Equal parts mystery, maven and majesty, Gwyneth leaves the whole world vying for her formidable good looks and bewitching allure.
With a husband who promises to fix you in a breathtakingly beautiful song and a story of loss so grievous you could cry - you can't help but root for the success of her latest endeavor: a cookbook meant to channel the ethos of her beloved late father, My Father's Daughter, out April 2011.
Perhaps it's the tug at the heartstrings that pulls me in, but one "daddy's little girl" to another, there's no greater gift than the tender bond between a daughter and a dad.
And if nothing else, I'll purchase the book because I've always felt tied to her for one special reason: When Gwyneth was ten years old her father took her to France and said, "I wanted you to see Paris for the first time with a man who would always love you, no matter what." When I was eleven, my dad took me to Paris and told me the very same thing. Precious.

Gwyneth looks so great in this spread and I love that photo of her with the books. Testino always makes women look so beautiful (coincidentally, today I posted some photos of Gwyneth at a beach party with Jay-Z...and a photo that Testino took of Charlotte Casiraghi for the Sept. Vogue).

I could always really relate to Gwyneth's close relationship with her father, although thankfully mine is still alive. I'll never forget reading those words about Paris and I remember her saying that she had seen Paris with the man who would always love her and that her father had died in Rome with the woman who would always love him. It was all tears after that.

Awww CRYSTAL!!!!!!! This choked me up...I am so pumped for her cookbook too. I have a love/hate relationship with Gwyneth...I think mostly caused by crippling jealousy (mine) and smug flawlessness (hers)...But I still find myself fully subscribing to the lifestyle she promotes...I'm hopeless!

I think i want to cry!

My dad died when i was 25. I remember cutting that quote out of a magazine years ago before i met my husband (we have been together 11 years. ) and thinking that is the dad i want for my children/daughter. I think i married him.
