Because Italy is the place I love more than anywhere in the world and I'm bummed I couldn't squeeze a little Italian vacay into my life this summer, indulge me while I live vicariously through these images.
Could there be a population more adept at creating beauty? From fashion, to food, to furniture...those smooth talking, style producing, good looking Italians take the cake! Sorry folks, some people are just born with it.
When you're there you can't help but learn from their example. Before you know it, you find yourself slowing down while you eat, dressing up when you go out, and being present while you live.
But for now, I'll remember to add a little bit of that Italian sensibility to my life to hold me over until next summer...

I've always wanted to just pack up and move to Italy. I really should just go ahead and do that now!
It's what I did when I was 22! Two glorious years in Rome. Do it!! ;)
Italy it's undoubtedly a dream place and I adore everything about it! I've never been there, but I'm crossing my fingers this will happen for New Year :)
Thanks for letting me escape the cold and rain of the UK's ever so fabulous August (!) for a minute or two!
Just came back from a year in Venice. You are totally right about Italians, their men are natural born, smooth talking casanovas, they all know how to dress, and their food is simply heavenly.
Apparently most of the art in the world is in Italy, something around 70-80%. So with all that inspiration around them, it's no wonder they exude creativity from every pore.
Cheers!
Enjoy your day.
Love it! You're not helping my Italy itch. I mean...I'm itching to get there. Not that I picked up some disease...
I couldn't agree more! Mr. M and I spent a few weeks in Tuscany last summer and can't WAIT to go back ... Life is just better there! Owning a summer home in the region is definitely on our bucket list -- Thanks for sharing these spaces. :)
Love this post as I am heading for Italy specifically Tuscany in a few months...I can't wait to soak up all the inspiration!
I so totally agree. I've never been since my money has gone into undergrad and grad school...buying a house and now renovating...but I've been blogging about Italy and it's artists' influence in fashion, design, cuisine, and life...I'm so glad I found your blog.
I've been all over Asia and Europe and never to Italy. It's the one country I love more than anything. Food, architecture, textiles, linens, shoes, handbags, wine, you name it I love. I even work for an Italian company. I'm heading to Florence in two weeks for work - can't wait, I'm afraid I'll never come home. Thanks for giving me a little taste of Italy.
great post! grazie! i am heading to italy in 3 weeks and am already beginning to get into the slow-down/savor-every-moment mode. they know how to live!
Being Italian and editor of a blog on Italian design I am very pleased about this post. Just please remember that Italy is not only Toscana!
