Mismatching your cushions with your sofa. On first look, I thought, "Ew, that's not right." But as I let my eyes soak up the entire image, I began to change my mind. Because the room already has a lot going on, it just adds one more unexpected, interesting twist. The important part in making it work is keeping the fabric solid (no patterns) and within a complementary color palette.
So, what do you guys think? Wrong or right?

I am not sure I like this. It just seems a little messy to me. Throws me off. But the rest of the room is so gorgeous, I could probably deal with it :)
It's very modern.....I'm not sure I would want it in my house but I like the aesthetic of it.
i guess it's a pretty cool alternative to just buy new cushins instead of a new couch - and rock the look!

Nah, not into it. The white is wrong on the couch, against a white wall, and the brown H rug is daggy too. Everything else I like! xx
Maybe with more complimentary cushions. But this to me just leaves me feeling like there must have been a bad stain on the original cushions.
I don't really like it but is there a bad design? It's just a point of view. Have a wonderful new week, Crystal
It works because it's obvious it's intentional. However, I don't really like it - but maybe in another color combo I would? Who knows? (it helps that the room is styled to perfection)

This looks like something that would be in my husbands house before we were married.....very interesting and I can definitely appreciate it. It reminds me of a controlled chaos of a bachelor pad. : )
Upon further consideration, I like it!! :)
My eyes went immediately to the Hermes blanket, haha. I am not certain about the cushions though. Interesting and certainly not offensive.
Have a wonderful day, Crystal.

Love it. For sure.
Hmm, not a fan. But I'll take that gallery wall, please!
I've actually been thinking of doing the exact same thing (I have a very similar sofa). I'm thinking YES.
I love the gallery wall & the pop of yellow I think brightens the whole space up!! I say "YES" to it! =)

I like it! I'm definitely a "solids" girl and have a hard time finding prints I love so this is perfect inspiration for me!
Hmm...I have to think about this one. Interesting idea for sure.
Yes I like it - love the picture frames all place well on the wall. certainly has character this room!
sorry wrong for me! Do not like it at all!
The overall lived in feel of the room is nice, but.......To be nit picky, I think it would work better if there was a better matching throw (Or better yet, a faux snow leopard or mink :)) and a different pillow it would be working for me a little better. xo
Works. I wouldn't mind living there.

In this room it works. Could it be the magic of the Hermes throw?
I remember reading how Suzanne Dimma (of Canadian House and Home) does this to change out the decor seasonally. And while at first I balked at idea of a mismatch; I'm warming up to the idea a lot... love this image!
Not wrong...but not right either. It looks like the cushions are velvet and the sofa is a cotton duck.....kind of like wearing linen and wool together. For me a gray linen would have worked better.....for me.
I'm not that into it. I love everything else about this mish mash collection, but the sofa seems off to me.
I dont think I could handle it. I would definitely need my couch to have matching cushions! yikes! Not a huge fan. Though, I truly appreciate the out-of-the-box thinking!
I have done it many times sucessfully on sofas and chairs. But it has to be done right. I have mixed a solid body with patterned cushions, and it looks great if it is low contrast.
This is a bit too much for me given the contrast, even though it is solids. I don't think it adds anything. Given the slipcover on the sofa body, it may not have been as intentional as expected.
Cheers,
Claudia
