Remember that part in Jerry Maguire when Tom professes his love to Rene, and Rene responds, "Shut up, just shut up. You had me at hello. You had me at hello." ?
Well, those were my words exactly as I flipped through the gorgeous images in Stephen Karlisch's new photo set, Italy Summer 201o. "You had me at Italy Summer. You had me at Italy."
And since it's Friday and weekends are for dreaming, let me get lost for a moment in the memory of when I lived in Rome. Of late nights stumbling across Piazza Navona in high heels and good company. Of long, drawn out weekend lunches eating pizza al fresco.
Of cute Italian carabinieri clad in Armani designed uniforms. Of slower days, vibrant culture, the Mediterranean sea and sun, and of two glorious years of self-discovery.
Tell me friends, where do you go when you daydream about your happy place?
Have a beautiful weekend!

Crystal

My dream place is also in those cobblestone lined, romantic villages, filled with the amazing smells of food and the Med Sea. Beautiful. Have a lovely weekend! xo Samantha

Oh my, and what memories to have! I can only imagine how amazing it must have been to live there. Not visit—live there. So different, I'm told, as you have the opportunity to experience scenarios as a local, through all seasons... for me, undoubtedly the south of France. I enjoyed Paris, but the south is where my heart is. I felt at home in a way I cannot describe, and each day, a longing is evident inside me, to go back, to be there... I hope to visit again soon, and God willing, have a second home there. I like Vancouver quite a bit, but I crave the culture that is embedded in the very air...
Enjoy these weekend dreams—they are so fun and often so vivid :)
warmly,
Sarah
Oh my gosh, two years.. it would be like I died and went to heaven. I love Paris most of all, but my happy place is actually Cinque Terre in northern Italy. Hiking, wine, and jumping off rocks into the Mediterranean in midsummer -- I'm definitely going back eventually. Have a lovely weekend!
What a beautiful post about my most favorite city !!I was lucky to holiday there over 2 yrs back...had the most amazing time ..being 7 months pregnant notwithstanding!!
You've written your memories so beautifully. Living there sounds amazing. With a similar longing emotion I always think back to my summers in the Provence and Cote d'Azur, the small villages, the slow life and all of it's beauty. Thank you for taking me back there for a little:)
I go to a dark park in Vancouver. It was lined with cherry blossoms. I didn't have a pup when I lived there but every time I went my worries would melt away. I miss the west.
I think I am with you on this one! Italy in the summer! how I miss the sun!

Wow these images are gorgeous! Italy is one of my most favorite places on earth! Our senior class took a trip to Europe {years ago} and out of all the places we went, Italy was by FAR my favorite! The smell of fresh pizza, gelato, the gorgeous piazzas, the architecture...ahh I could go on and on!! These pictures definitely bring back memories :)
Have a lovely weekend!

Gorgeous! He had me at "italy" too! Simply captivating photos...
This is so beautiful! It really reminds me of my trip there. I sometimes find myself dreaming about the Amalfi Coast, too, a fantastic experience I would like to relive.

Like you, I share a love for all things Italian. My favorite place in the word is Roma and more specifically Piazza Navona :) I love the smell of 2000 year-old cobblestone, wine, pasta, olives, Romans strolling...everything! I am so envious you got to enjoy 2 years as a true local. My husband and I hope to one day live in Italy :) http://www.fallsdesign.blogspot.com
Great photos. The Piazza Navona marking reminded me of a delicious tartufo I had there. And, the carabinieri! My dad was one in Italy.
