NEVER SAY NEVER

Just when I thought the trend was over, antlers are back in a huge way.

I didn't love them at first, then I put a pair in my home after they were gifted to me, and I can't take my eyes off them! They've become one of my favorite things in my house. What do you think of the trend?

I've always been a fan - if executed correctly of course!

Antlers and Branchlers -- love them! I decided to go with a whimsical take on it ~ http://lovefeasttable.com/blog/how-to-make-branchlers/

And I have to say every time I come into my office - they make me smile!

Careful - antlers can go to your head.

I have to feel sorry for the ram in the last photo, his striking good looks sealed his fate!

jacquelyn said it right!
I love them when done correctly, but it can be done so, so wrong.

Would love to see a photo of yours!

I love it when a trend surpasses its own longevity to become quite a staple in designer homes...Now it's all about the search for the perfect scale and shape to get the vignette just right...that dining room shot got it down pat! Antlers are here to stay!

Hi Crystal -

I feel the same way. Sometimes I absolutely LOVE taxidermy/horns, and other times I just loathe it. Just depends on if it done right - then it sings, draws your eye, feels luxurious, regal, quirky, etc. When done wrong, well it is just really wrong.

Working on a blog post right now about taxidermy actually - hope to have it up in the next day or so...

I can't get enough of them! Love the dining room photo. The antlers look great in that setting!

I think they're fun.. What I'm loving even more, though is that moody black lace tablecloth! ♥

I really want to love them but it makes me sad that a hunter probably shot the animal to get them. I know, I know ... some are fake. But even the idea of it makes me sad! And that's all that keeps me from getting them. :)

I have been admiring my friends, who has been collecting them for about 20 years (she has always been ahead on trends) :) After eyeing them for so long I finally broke down and purchased an old one recently (it took me that long to be ok with the concept). But, now, I can't believe I waited so long. LOVE.

Crystal, I'm glad you think they're here to stay. I agree. For a LONG time I hope. I have lots and just love each one of them. Mostly because I live in the center of Bass Pro-ville. LOL. But, they really do help bring in a manli-ness that a house needs, I think. Not to mention their sculptural and nod to natural beauty.

I go back and forth- one moment I'm thinking the trend is dead, the next I'm pondering a full-on antler chandelier!
