Inspirational Space: On the Diagonal

What got my attention about this space was the bed placed on the diagonal. I simply love it! I think sometimes we forgot we can do this and stick to parallel and perpendicular angles. In fact, after seeing this image, I rearranged all my living room furniture with a diagonal layout. It's like getting a new room! It feels much more modern and spacious now. Have you ever tried it?

I love it! The diagonal makes it seem more unique. Casually thrown together, but in a totally chic way! I also love the all-over neutral color and that light fixture!

Fantastic image. The chandelier is a statement piece without being to over-the-top. Would love to be able to find something similar for my house.

when i first moved to my new place, i tried doing that, but then went back to the traditional setup--i think i'm going to go and re-arrange my living room now too! the overhead lighting fixture is amazing in this...

When I was a kid, I saw this (the diagonal furniture placement) on a popular teen show, so for all of my teen years, I would keep the bed and other larger pieces of furniture at weird slants. I liked it, because it was certainly edgier than everything being in a proper place. Its cool to see this done in a grown up, modern way.

is simply fantastic.
I think that you really need enough space to experiment it in your room.
unfortunally the spaces here in europe are so small!

I used to have my sleigh bed on a diagonal in my room when I was a little girl...now I have a big, chaise lounge on a diagonal in my study.
