Suddenly Suzani

Suddenly suzani - the traditional embroidery from Central Asia - is popping up everywhere and really catching my eye. I think it's a beautiful way to add a little spice and pattern to a space.
It's certainly a stretch for my usual aesthetic, which is probably exactly why I like it. Isn't life more fun when we surprise ourselves with our choices anyway?!
What really did me in for the pattern though was that ever so popular dish rack tray (above) that we saw last month in Lonny. Since then, I've been smitten for suzani! How about you? Into it or over it?

I am really starting to love it as well! I stumbled upon that table runner/place mat/napkin set at World Market just the other day and fell in love with it!

I'm still into it, I don't think it will ever go completely out of style because it's a classic motif. Love the ottoman and dish rack tray!

I am in love with the Anthro Suzani rug in black, and am desperate to figure out a way to work it into my decor.

In a weird way it reminds me of a funky collegiate crest. Sort of Ralph Lauren Rugby? Great picks!

Not tired of this look at all -- that chair is heavenly, and the pillows are so fun. Speaking of pillows, I wonder what's still on your mind :)

Love, love that scoop chair!
I still love the simple, graphic patterns - I don't that will ever get old! But at the moment, I think I prefer it in smaller doses to large scale pieces. It used to have this exotic intrigue but it's becoming so mainstream.

Suddenly Suzani has been on my affordable radar for some time. I have a pillow that was gifted to me, but now I need a collection.

If you love architectural, robust prints I suggest you visit the Peabody Essex Museum's exhibit on Iris Apfel's irreverent wardrobe. Her textiles are divine

Let me know what you think. I just went yesterday. Btw, nice "place" you've got here. Hope to stop by again!
