Bar Carts Are Back!

Stylish and fun, bar carts are back from the more elegant times of the late 50s and early 60s. They ooze with hospitality and say to guests, "You're here, let's celebrate!" In a time when people are staying in and entertaining more often than going out, bar carts are interactive for guests, help facilitate mingling, and best of all, the host is not stuck with bar tending duties all night. They're lovely objects, don't you think?

I love the look of bar carts, they're so pretty and simple. I'm currently on the hunt for one, but all the ones I love are out of my price range. I'm going start stalking my local thrift stores.

Bar carts are great!

I am enjoying how innovative and fun they can be, too. Your examples are perfect, Crystal -- I really like the last two!

I hope you have an amazing weekend.

I'm still kicking myself for not purchasing a $15 bar cart I found a few years ago at a thrift store in Fargo...

Ooooo love, love, love! I so need to get a bar cart set up... liquor bottles take up too much room in the fridge! Are they called "bart" carts as another term? I think I might be missing something? Lovely post as always!

I love bar carts. There is something about displaying crystal decanters, glasses and of course the liquor that strangely appeals to me!

I love the idea of bar carts! I actually saw one at Bombay today that had a really pretty tea set and afternoon tea platter on it!

I adore these, love your finds--they're so unique! I have been coveting an outdoor one for the summer all last year--this may be the year I have to break down and do it!

Hope you have a great weekend Crystal!

I adore my bar cart. It belonged to my great-grandmother and is perfectly suited for my small city condo. I search estate sales and "junk" shops for vintage cocktail shakers, glasses and decanter. It's practical and pretty.

YES! We so need one. The husband has gotten me into old school martinis and a bar cart is a necessity. Finally.

Love the idea of a bar cart and the idea of entertaining at home more, like a throw back to the '50's! Very cool!

While visiting vineyard friends in Baune, France, the had commissioned the local cabinet maker to craft them a rolling bar cart. It suited the setting of their 200 year old home perfectly but, I wonder how happy it was to actually be put to work as a movable diaper changing table for their newborn baby girl, instead?

a bar cart would sure come in handy! i usually like the sleek contemporary look but in these cases, my favorite is the last one- that really rustic wooden cart.
