Isn't this a great idea in lieu of your typical wall photo gallery? Hanging pictures from a thread provides so much more life and movement to the wall. I am especially drawn to the top image where varying shapes and sizes wrap around the corner in a staggered pattern. The tilt of the pictures is an added touch of intimacy. It's as though the people in the photos want to reach out, touch you, and be part of your living room conversations!

I like the arrangement of hanging mirrors in the last picture.
Love it! My walls are in desperate need of an overhaul and this is a great idea :)
Oh I like it a lot, it brings geometry to art, but I have a sinking feeling that in my house cobwebs would very quickly gather round those strings...
A good friend of my mother's has a picture rail like this. Her house is gorgeous with lots of suspended frames. Thanks for sharing!!
lovely! and the best part is that you don't have to nail down the wall! xo
Very cute Crystal and great for rental apartments when they won't allow you to put nails in the wall!
cheers! Barbara
I love this look! so easy and adds a touch that isn't seen in every other home.
Such a clever, unique idea! :)
This is a very practical way because people don't have to make too many holes on the wall... nice pics!!!
Great pictures!! Have a great day :-)
Very cool - and has a lovely laid back vibe to it. The criss-cross of the wires also add a bit of extra interest too!
Hope your week`s off to a great start!
xo
I love this idea, and it looks much easier than trying to hang them the old-fashioned way!
that last image is my favorite! i have a thing for simplicity and all white! lol. :)
i do love this thread idea, but i think i would be scared that they would fall at the simplest disturbance! :)
aside from the photo gallery- I love the bedcover. any idea where it's from?

I love this idea! Your blog is fantastic :) Stephanie The-Still-Waters.blogspot.com
I think this is such a lovely idea! I really like the first example -- the unique shapes and images makes it all the more interesting. Also, I like how it is clipped to the crown moulding.
I would love to try this concept with mini framed chalkboard in a kitchen.
xo, Sarah
I particularly like the first one, the whole vibe of the room. Great concept!!
I love this idea! We're about to create a gallery wall in our house + this could be an even better idea than what we were planning! XO!
This is a great idea! I've done this with ribbon, but never thought of using string. Of course, I'm an uptight "space planner" type of interior designer, so I like the 2nd picture best as things are more structured. But all three are lovely. The bottom one is awesome...I love layering mirrors!
Fabutastic! Really like the first image. But the frames are also lovely. I have a little crush on that almost trefoil shaped frame. Happy week! OX Monika
I love those images. We have a picture rail in our living room but I've never hung pictures from it. Perfect inspiration. Thanks!
Super idea! A little retro but very contemporary at the same time!
Love it, what a great idea! The top photo is my fave!
fantastic idea! Especially for a small room where you don't want to have heavy frames, this lends itself to a weightless feeling! Great post!
Tidbit of info for you. This is actually how all the art in the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC are hung. (the largest home in America) And, of course, they were done this way to prevent holes in the walls. Pretty smart.
Oh wow, that's such a great idea! Do you think it would work for plaster over lathe?
never seen an idea like this. thanks for sharing. third image with the mirrors is my fave.

Hey Crystal!! Happy 2010!
I pulled the exact same image of the yellow wall and 'pyramid' of prints....few years back. I tried to replicate and made a huge mess! LOL
From the moment the first Mercedes-Benz CLS four-door "coupe" was introduced to the public, other German luxury automakers hit the drafting board. According to the German auto experts at AutoBild, Audi is just over a year away from unleashing its own cleverly packaged sedan.
