Captured By: Anna Williams

Yesterday, Anne reignited my love for photographer Anna Williams with a beautiful post about her latest endeavor: The Voracity. Today, I'm inspired by these poetic spaces captured by Ms. Williams as seen in her portfolio.
I don't claim to know the first thing about photography, but I do know it's key when telling the story of a room through an image. If one cannot physically experience the space for themselves, then the photographer is integral in capturing its essence and bringing to light its best attributes.

A perfect dining area with balance and a sense of calm. The furniture pieces, namely those Cherner chairs, are modern and clean. But matched with the billow of a transparent tablecloth, the space folds into softness and relaxation.
A painting that says so much without saying anything at all. Monochromatic art is still among my favorites. Blended with the color of the wall, it stands out in dimension yet stays quiet with easy elegance.
A truly finished look. This living space has just the right amount of pattern and layering to make it feel full and complete. But the light colored furniture and muted palette keep the room tranquil and serene.
A charming little kitchen. I'm still in love with open shelving and this one is styled just right. I like my 'stuff' contained and keeping the varying heights and colors of the tableware displayed in one easy spot is the perfect solution.
The softness of this image, the dream like quality, captured me in this bedroom. But the little coffee cup and accompanying flowers really made me fall in love with it. I adore that 'moment.'
Oh to have a mud room! They're so country and have me daydreaming of second homes far from the bustle of the city. Two sweet pillows and wall art whose placement doesn't seem to have a rhyme or reason. But the magic is it works...in fact, it more than works.

Chests of drawers against the side of a staircase is an old trick, but a constant favorite. My favorite part of the space is the boldness of the black on the stairs piercing through a space of ethereal blues and dreamy hues.

I loved every image more than the last! Beautiful collection. The striped pillow in the mudroom, the perriwinkle color of that chest of drawers, the "moment" you mentioned captured in the bedroom, the details in "finished" living room, and that linen table cloth. I love it all!! Saved almost all of these images as reference for my own home.

So bright crisp and airy - I think my favourite is the photography in the kitchen - stunning! (and sweet peas are an all time favourite!)

Ok. So I can't explain why I like that dinosaur paper, but I do. That whole space just works.

Hey thanks for posting! Glad you like the shots - Anna is flattered to be featured here.

The first shot was styled by Carlos Mota -he's really great at creating moments that add a real flourish to interiors. It was in an apartment in the West Village that was ridiculous. Places like that, with that much space, and a garden... let's just say that it is nice to spend a week in there taking pictures but really hard to go back to our own home ;)

The third shot with the painting (and 4th and 5th shots) - those were shot for Blueprint and are from Joelle Hoverson's old apartment (she has since moved). She's the owner of PurlSoho and if you haven't had a chance to see their new store space its amazing. Anna also shot their book which will be out later this year. Needles to say, Joelle is an incredibly talented artist and entrepreneur, not to mention a sweet and kind person. She's a friend and inspiration.

The next shot of the bed is from a story in Martha Stewart on eyelets - it was shot at our old house in upstate NY and was styled by Brian Andriola - also a talented stylist. I definitely miss that house but the photos take me back. It was high up on a ridge in the Catskills and the air had this uncanny chill on summer nights - a really amazing place.

We're adding more photos soon from a shoot Anna just did in Santa Barbara - as soon as the issue comes out this summer - so please check back later! In any case - thanks again for posting and please email us if you have any questions! (email on Anna's site)

You are right, the photos are beautiful. Every one of the spaces look so inviting. I especially loved the bedroom, its crisp, clean colors. The plate of books on the floor just make me smile.

I adore that living room. It has just the right amount of black to give everything such depth and grounding.
