Happenings: SG Grand / Buckingham ID Grand Openings

Remember last Friday when I mentioned I was headed to a showroom grand opening? Well, it was just too much fun not share the photos and experience with all of you! Chicago designer Debra Phillips celebrated her new store, SG Grand opening in a joint event with the unveiling of Buckingham Interior Design's new studio! Both spaces are to die for gorgeous and conveniently located next door to each other.
Jess and Alaina accompanied me to the stylish affair. The three of us have been having so much fun lately -- from attending a Nate Berkus Show pre-taping to co- hosting a Chicago blogger soiree -- so glad blogging has brought us together!
Upon arriving to SG Grand, we instantly fell in love with this bubble light fixture.
The showroom is full of gorgeous finds, from elemental furniture and statement wall art, to beautifully upholstered pieces that will make your heart swoon.
Debra (in green) with Alaina, Jess, and Adrienne, was the most gracious of hosts.
One of the reasons I love attending these events so much is because of the new friendships I make. Marija (on the right) with Alaina is one of those people you meet and immediately feel is your new BFF! As Alaina put it, an insta-friend. ;)
We were so lucky to have Jaithan and Eddie in town from New York! Despite their national success as experts in lifestyle and entertaining they were the sweetest, most down to earth guys! I had so much fun getting to know them and hearing about all the exciting things they have on the horizon!
Next we headed next door to Buckingham Interior Design's new office space! It's one of those spaces where you gasp at its beauty when you first walk in. Julia Edelmann (second from the left), founder and principal at BID, is a master at mixing modern with antiques and bringing a wow factor to every space she creates. She's also just about the nicest person I've ever met.
This area was my favorite moment in the entire space and makes quite the impression when you first walk in. The modern table with the bellini and Eames molded plastic side chairs and medieval chandeliers? I could stare at this forever!
Between taking in the space, we enjoyed cupcakes...
mingled and posed...
ate sushi off a gorgeous table with DWR chairs...
and Kate admired her old chair in Julia's new office! There's a fun story behind this chair that I'm sure either of them would be happy to share ;)
Beautiful places, wonderful people, new friends -- it was a lovely evening to say the least. And just for fun...
Shoe shots!

Happy Friday, see you next week....with some exciting news!!!

xo,
Crystal

Both of these events were truly so much fun and both Debra and Julia were the perfect hosts - something tells me we'll be seeing so much more of each of these ladies! I have to agree, one of the best parts was meeting such talented people. I'm totally honored to be your insta-friend and mostly relieved you guys felt the same way ;)

How fun is Chicago with all this great design talent?!

And put me on the list for the next blogger soiree. I just know you girls throw a fabulous party!

Crystal, this looks like so much fun! And might I add, your outfit is so chic—is that a dress or romper? It's very elegant and I adore the belt with it... how amazing it must have been to meet these lovely people!

Can't wait for the news next week!
