Country Home Inspiration

With spring just around the corner, I find my mind wandering to the outdoors. Maybe it's the beautiful landscape of my new city, maybe it's perpetual talk of jaunts to wine country with friends, but I'm pining for cozy country homes to escape to for the weekend.
The understated charm of this one caught my eye as a place I'd happily visit. Beyond the beautiful wood work, you can tell it didn't take a fortune to create the inviting atmosphere I love it for. In fact, I spy a few Ikea pieces and they've never looked better.

Throughout the home, my favorite elements are the various wood pieces. From dressers, to side boards, to benches, nothing says country home like weathered furniture.

Green cabinetry that calls forth the nature outside is a lovely way to pay homage to the surroundings. I'm also a sucker for white ceramic dishes so of course when I saw the table had been styled with them my heart skipped a little beat.

I think I'm ready to drift off into dreams of my next weekend getaway. And it's only Monday. This can't be good...

This is making me want to getaway as well. I adore how they mix 'n' match all these elements! All the handsome, natural wood makes you feel comfy and grounded while unexpected pops like bold stripes feel rejuvenating! Lovely, lovely home. Have a great week, Crystal :)

Gorgeous post, Crystal. I grew up in the country, and one day I hope to live amongst the fields again, with exposed beams and uneven floors. It just feels so comforting to me.

it looks so relaxed, but still put together. Not so rustic that it looks like a junk shop!

Yes, the lovely thing about California, especially where you are, is the nearness to Sonoma & the beautiful northwest Pacific coast. I am drawn to this area. Cute little house, too.

Hello Crystal.
I too love ceramic dishes and hope to one day have a big 'walk in prop room' full of wonderful collections.

What a fantastic home. So much personality and amazing natural light. I am madly in love with the limed wood work. How refreshing to see pale wood like this. It's beautifully executed.

Enjoy your new city and all your walks. Such a nice way to settle in and get to know a new place.
