LET'S GET COZY

Even though my home was featured in Rue and should therefore technically be "done," I'm still finding ways to make it even more "finished." And one goal is to cozy up my bedroom a little.

My bedroom is pretty right now, but it could definitely be more plush. This photo of Ivanka Trump's bedroom caught my eye because though it's simple it exudes a certain, irresistible warmth. The same warmth I'm after in my own space. What do you think makes it feel this way? Would love to hear your thoughts and tips!

I feel like it's the layers and scrumptious fabrics. I am not really a fan of draped or skirted tables, a little to traditional for me. But the lighting above them adds a warm mood to the room!

I think that the gold canopy trim and the pillows give the room a luxurious feel- as if you are staying in an expensive hotel. The pretty flowers add a feminine touch and extra warmth, too! Love this space. I also love your blog and am glad to be your newest follower!

The monochromatic colors scheme and all of the layering really gives this room that plush feeling. I am loving the skirted side table, it adds a graphic punch to the space.

Your bedroom is so gorgeous! I absolutely love it. I think it already looks very warm and welcoming, especially with the sherpa rug.

The heavy drapes and plush bedding makes this room seem so cozy. The little wall lamps pouring out golden light are helping a good bit, too. I love Ivanka's style.

BTW...your bedroom is simply gorgeous. I love the wall color. After comparing the two, though, it seems that maybe Ivanka's ceilings are lower. Your high ceilings give the room an airy feel.

Agreed on the lighting. The sconces add warmth, as do the natural textures -- the sisal rug, the headboard and the side chair. Also agree with Miz.November, the ceiling height and overall the size of Ivanka's room is much smaller than yours, which makes it feel cozy. And yes to Amanda also, on the the skirted table.

Definitely all the layers & different textiles. Can't replace those to create warmth & cozy. And, best part..you can strip some of it down when it's hot as blue blazes & you want a cleaner look & feel.

Have a great day!

It sure does feel warm. It's definitely layers of textiles and soft tones. The warm light sconce glow adds a nice warm ilumination factor :))
