This place is just stunning in my eyes! The the soothing color palette of grey and blue mixed with warm elements like wood and brass, create the perfect balance of warm and cold, new and old, modern and rustic. And my heart swoons!
Perfection!! In September I'm moving into an apartment with a similar fireplace and I've already started scouring eBay and Etsy looking for two candelabras like these for the mantle! I'll take the chandelier too, please :) The sparse accessorizing here is what does it for me. It highlights the few special pieces present and they command so much more attention because of it!
This chandelier has single handedly made me consider using brass and gold finishings for the first time in my new place! It's hard to step away from my comfort zone of silver and nickel, but I'm up for challenging myself to try something new!
The modern, clean lines with pockets of warmth and vintage finds is pretty much my aesthetic in a nutshell. Do you like it, too? How would you describe your aesthetic?

This home is absolutely beautiful. I love evry little thing ♥
I can't wait to see your new place especially your fireplace. :)
Take a chance, go brass/gold, I have always continued to use it sparingly and it has always looked rich and great, no regrets. :)
I love all things Swedish, and your home is gorgeous!
The sparse luxuriousness of this place is great.
i'd call my aesthetic "lush minimalism", currently. (not my term; i read it somewhere, and it just fits with my style philosophy.)
i'm a sucker for a gorgeous chandelier in a simple space--makes for an appealing contrast.
i'd love to try the painting technique on those gray walls! such depth and warmth--yet simple and stark.
Gorgeous! I love those chairs around the dining table! They are perfectly old-fashion.
I also love brass and gold. They tend to bring warmth to a space. =)
All these images have a common thread of Venetian plaster bare walls.
And I love that earthy-clean look.
Mu own style accidentally-naturally runs along Bohemian-Eco-Urban...
Raw woods and Natural grasses, many layers of woven fabrics, and gallery walls of various era paintings by family and friends. A collection of bowls and dishes from our travels.
"sparse luxuriousness" and "lush minimalism" - I love these descriptions ladies! Perfect way to put it!
@Teri: your style sounds divine! Love those things too!
Thanks for the brass/gold encourgement too, everyone!!
Wow! This place is truly incredible! I have looked over these images 3 times already, and each time, noticing a different detail. I am very much in line with this style - a mix of classic, more modern pieces that have timeless appeal, combined with a few European antiques/vintage finds, thrown in for a delightful surprise. "Lush minimalism" as well-put by Style Odyssey is a perfect term, also!
I like how you have described the "pockets of warmth" - that's exactly it in a nutshell :)
Amazing feature*
wow, love all the light fixtures in these pretty rooms!
Lush minimalism is a great way to put it! Love the style you posted. LOVE the chandeliers!
oh I am all about that oversized clock, fabulous!! great post
just lovely! + such beautiful chandeliers
I LOVE Swedish/Scandinavian styles. Also, right now my fave color palette is the blue/greys. I agree with you on trying the brass finishes, they are very old school.
Want to try a little Bronze or Brass or even Rusty Iron? How about a custom wall hanging or Entry way design by www.metalfacades.com or www.atlassignsandplaques. You dream it, we make it!
fabulous! Be brave with the comeback of brass (I know, we all think of the '80's shiny mistakes)...I purchased a lovely smaller antique chandelier from Spain. It has a beautiful patina on the brass arms that are a leaf motif and have little drop rosebuds in porcelain with a porcelain trunk with painted flowers and gold detailing...I still haven't hung it anywhere, but will when the perfect spot comes up :)
I images of the dining room are just gorgeous. I love this style too - a mix of modern and vintage. Great post.
I think touches of rust can look lovely when they are used in a room with restrained colour - the soft greys here are so chic. You can normally find lovely lamps made from old metal balustrades that have been sand-blasted. In London we have a great Designer called Tyson Bennison,,, www.tysonltd.com
@Gaboushka: Thanks so much for passing the Tyson Bennison link along to me! The site looks wonderful. I'm sure I'll spend a long while browsing everything!
