THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX

Do you know who's blowing it out of the park with their furniture campaigns?

Dedon! I'd love to know who the creative director behind these shoots is. Better yet, I'd love to switch jobs for a day. If only for an excuse to travel to Southeast Asia!

P.S. For the first time ever, we're asking Rue readers to help us pick the cover for our upcoming issue, out on Monday! If you'd like to weigh in, we'd love to hear from you!

Flawless British Craftsmanship: OCHRE

British accents, Prince William, Burberry, the Beatles, Shakespeare, and David Beckham...as if we needed another reason to love the UK. But the Brits have again gifted the world with something wonderful: OCHRE. The aesthetic is modern meets traditional somewhere in the middle of fabulousness! The lines are easy and elegant, the feel contemporary and luxurious. So what do you think, is it love at first sight for you too?

Take a (furry) seat!

I adore these chairs dressed with (faux?) fur coverings and throws! They add loads of texture and look so inviting. I can imagine how plush they must feel to the touch and against my skin! This beautiful home belongs to the very talented Australian photographer, Deborah McLean, which I discovered via emmas designblogg. I'm loving the Scandinavian style her house is rocking - one of my all time favorite styles!

The Bertoia Chair

Yesterday Alek over at From the Right Bank to the Left Coast posted this gorgeous space for her "What's your style in one picture?" series. I think her picture is pretty darn close to what I would have chosen! But most of all, it got me reconnected with my love for the bertoia chair!

I adore the thin, airy lines, and modern shape. But, I like them best when paired with something rustic, like a primitive dining table. Mixing styles is so what I'm all about!

Since I'm not in the market for new chairs myself, these lovely cards by some very talented Etsy artists will have to do for now :)

You can shop the cards, here, here, here, here, and here!

Do you do cowhide? Eames does!

Have you seen that the Eames Molded Plywood Lounge Chair is now available in cowhide?! There are only 500 of this limited edition available, so you have to hurry up if you want it! But this begs another question, how do we feel about cowhide? The jury's still out on this one for me. Although I much prefer the trend in a chair than in a floor rug.

Wishlist: Safari Lounge Chair

I've been eyeing this chair over at Salvage One in Chicago for a few days now. I love the worn in, burnt orange leather and easy recline. Sometimes I think vintage finds make me happier than the new stuff - they offer so much more character!

Inspirational Space of the Week: a Touch of Romance

I absolutely fell in love with this little vignette when I saw it over at Haute Design. The exaggerated number of sparkly chandeliers (you can never have too many!) and the heart shaped chair (I want one!), just reach into my heart and make me feel romantic inside.

Happy Friday! See you Monday. xoxo Crystal

Thos. Moser: Beautiful Wood Pieces

This weekend I was with some girlfriends for a night out in Chicago, when we walked past a Thos. Moser showroom. The beautiful four post bed in the display window caught all our attention! It was stunning, elegant, and modern. Of course, I just had to stop and take few pics with my iPhone :)
When I got home, I checked out the website. I have to say, there is some of the most beautiful wood furniture I've ever seen. I love the thin, clean lines and modern curves of their pieces. Here are some of my favs...hard to think of it as anything else but art :)

Tufted Headboards

I've decided I want my bedroom to feel luxurious, feminine, and fit for a queen. Maybe I'll paint the walls a rich, royal purple - the color of the midnight sky. Bedtime is my favorite time of the day. It's when I can travel a million miles away into a good book, and when I'm most inspired to catalog the journey of my life into my beloved journal.

So, I'm on the search for a new headboard! I've been eyeing some silk and velvet tufted ones over at Urban Outfitters. They seem to perfectly capture the look I'm going for. My absolute favorite (please go on sale soon!) is this sage, wingback headborad on top.

Chairs Chairs Chairs

I've been looking for a chair to purchase for the entryway of my apartment for about a month now. I desperately need a place to set my purse down when I come throw the front door or to sit while I put on or take off my shoes. This weekend I think I finally found "the one" over at Wisteria.

The Weathered X-Oak Back Chair is just what I was looking for! I love the natural wood, the bold x back that adds something geometric to the mix, the curve of the legs, and how it looks like it can handle a lot of ware and tare! I think I know what I'll be doing with my next pay check :) Here's a look at some other contenders from Wisteria.

Modern Equestrian

Have you checked out Ralph Lauren Home recently? If not, it's definitely worth the visit! Their new collections are fantastic. I love how the clothes brand's clean, preppy look has been maintained so well in their furniture lines. Here's a look at the Modern Equestrian Collection.
